Do Primers Really Work?

For those of you who don’t know what these are primers are the base to any makeup you apply. They are “supposed to” create a better canvas for your makeup to make it look bolder, better and last longer. Most of you probably use primers for your face, but primers just don’t stop there. There are also lip primers, lash primers, and eyeshadow primers. For today’s post I’m going to be using only primers for eye makeup: eyeshadow and lash primers to see if there really is a difference.
Is Eyeshadow Primer necessary?
Now I have been using the e.l.f shadow lock primer for a while now, mainly because I wanted something cheap to try out and I have been using this for quite a while now. For my lashes I recently started using L’OREAL Voluminous Lash Primer.
As you can see with the eyeshadow, the difference is very subtle where as the lashes it’s definitely more prominent. I would come to a conclusion that overall primers do work if you find a good quality one and use them correctly!
My Favorite Primers
Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Primer Potion
Face: Maybelline Baby Skin Primer, Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer
Lashes: L’OREAL Voluminous Lash Primer
I would also add that depending on the primer, they can help give a lasting effect to your eye makeup, particularly if you’re oily! 🙂
So true! 😄
